The group’s library
Morley Family History Group has a number of books and other resources that might help you fill in some missing gaps on an individual ancestor or develop a deeper understanding of an ancestor’s occupation, or the area where they lived?
There are many books about aspects of Yorkshire life and places (as you’d expect), along with information on (amongst other places) Cheshire, Lincolnshire, and Norfolk.
There are also a number of information guides into particular aspects of family history research such as Poor Laws, Quarter Sessions, Census returns, occupations and military records. There’s not enough space to list everything here so if there’s a subject you’re interested in and would like to know if the library can help, please get in touch and I’ll let you know if something is available.
Members are welcome to browse the library contents at group meetings. If you’re unable to borrow a book in person we can arrange to send things by post.
You can contact the group’s librarian by email at peladon72@gmail.com (please put ‘Family History’ in the email title).
